Certification Format

CCIE Data Center certification exam is divided in two parts a written exam and a lab exam. Both are explained in detail below:

CCIE Data Center Written Exam

The written exam code for CCIE Data Center is 350-080 CCIE Data Center. It is a two hours exam having 90 to 110 questions. The exam is taken in English language. The topics covered in the exam are Cisco Data Center Architecture, Infrastructure of Cisco NX-OS, Storage Networking and virtualization of Data Center, and Application management network Services etc.

CCIE Data Center Lab Exam

The CCIE Data Center lab exam is an eight hour practical exam which is based on practical configuring a data center and managing service provision in a lab environment according to the questionnaire. Troubleshooting is an important part of the lab exam. The candidate must be eligible to figure out and troubleshoot issues in data center management.

Certification Information

Re Certification

All the CCIE certifications are to be renewed every two years after the first certification date. Hence CCIE is expert level certification in the industry so it is ensured that the certification holders possess up to date technology knowledge. That is why CCIE has to recertify every two years. Otherwise the certification is suspended and after sometime it is completely expired and candidate has to restart all the certification process from start. In order to recertify candidate has to pass one of the following exam before certification expiry:

• Any current CCIE written or practical exam
• Current CCDE written or practical exam
• Clear the Cisco Certified Architect interview or and the CCAr board review to extend lower certification.

For recertification candidate has to wait at least 15 days for reattempts between written exams. With CCIE Data Center recertified all the active Entry, Associate, Professional and other Expert level certifications are also re certified e.g. CCNP and CCNA etc.

Pre requisite

There are no specific prerequisites to appear in CCIE data center exam. It is an expert level certification and the exams are highly professional. So it is encouraged to have at least 3 to 5 years of professional job experience before trying for CCIE data center exam.
